Education STEM EducationLVC’s Master of Science in STEM Education is designed to produce leaders in science, technology, engineering, and math pedagogy. Immediately implement new, standards-based teaching methods in your classroom and provide your students with the real-life application skills they need for future success.
Our growing program employs a collaborative learning approach with classes designed to apply to any age range, from K–12. High school teachers work alongside middle school and elementary teachers to understand the “big ideas” in science education and how to integrate core concepts.
Flexible course offerings help you take courses at your own pace and work around your teaching schedule. Take courses online, at our campus in Annville, or at our satellite facility at the Dixon Center in Harrisburg. Our summer field experiences focus on STEM application and put you directly in the community, from touring local industries to exploring regional watersheds.
Whether you’re a recent graduate working toward permanent teacher certification or an experienced teacher who needs to fulfill your Act 48 credits in Pennsylvania, our graduate degree in STEM Education works for you and your students.
• Apply to our Master of Science in STEM Education for graduate students and working professionals.
• Master your degree requirements, from integrative curriculum design to STEM careers.
• Use credits from your Integrative STEM Education Certificate to progress through the master’s degree.
You know some classroom challenges can’t be solved by one disciplinary approach. Get the tools you need to work across STEM disciplines and prepare your students for the challenges they’ll face in the real world.
We’ll help you apply the best teaching practices for integrating STEM concepts to your classroom and deepen your content knowledge of life science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Engage your students while adhering to Next Generation Science Standards, develop exciting co-teaching opportunities within your department, and compete for available STEM teaching positions in your district.
Understand Real-World STEM Applications with Summer Field Courses
Learn how to make STEM concepts more relevant to your students by providing the academic and real-world contexts that will help them be globally competitive in the 21st century.
Our summer courses in industry, forensic science, watersheds, and internet technology will put you in the field to help you understand how STEM-based careers apply content knowledge in the real world.
• Learn how to teach from our award-winning faculty, who serve as ambassadors for professional organizations like the National Science Teachers Association and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
• Gain a broader understanding of K–12 STEM pedagogy, from three-dimensional learning to real-world application.
• Take courses online or in-person, so you can earn credits toward your degree and still work full-time.
• Thrive as a student with small classes and personal advising that caters to your needs as a STEM educator.
Our graduate students are local educators from Annville, York County, Palmyra, Lower Dauphin, and further afield who want to gain greater career flexibility and learn the most effective methods for teaching in and across their STEM disciplines.
No matter what stage they’re at in their teaching careers, our graduate students learn how to implement new approaches for teaching STEM, improve the STEM literacy of their students, and ready their students for the 21st-century workplace.
Our graduates have become teaching ambassadors, principals, superintendents, and STEM leaders at the national level.
Learn more about the post-baccalaureate program that examines best practices in a blended or fully online format.
The careers and jobs of tomorrow will increasingly rely on science, technology, and math skills. Throw in engineering and STEM education becomes even more essential when preparing students for their futures. But are students receiving the quality STEM educations they need to thrive and compete?
