Biology majors interested in pursuing graduate studies in dentistry, health professions, medicine, osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, physician’s assistant, podiatric medicine, or veterinary medicine are guided by our faculty-led Health Professions Committee.
Recent biology graduates have pursued careers as scientists for such companies as Pfizer, DuPont, The Hershey Company, Merck, and Upjohn. Others have gone on to work for the government at the NIH, FDA, EPA, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources, Army Corps of Engineers, and the Smithsonian.
Many have also attended prestigious medical, veterinary, and dental schools, as well as masters and Ph.D. programs throughout the country. In the past three years, biology graduates have enrolled in programs at West Virginia Medical School, East Carolina University, Temple University, Drexel University, Indian University, Penn State College of Medicine, Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Medicine, Sarah Lawrence College, The Commonwealth Medical College, University of Maryland, and Virginia Commonwealth University, among others.
