About Creative Writing at LVC

Join our community of artists and thinkers who are excited to help you hone your skills and techniques across genres and applications. Through courses that focus on fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, script writing, theater, journalism, digital media, and much more, you can pursue your passions and discover new ones while gaining an array of skills to prepare you for your career field of choice.

You can write for or edit publications including the Green Blotter literary magazine and La Vie Collegienne student newspaper. Get involved with planning LVC’s visiting writers’ series, “Writing: A Life” or write for the College’s alumni magazine and LVC website—and those are just our on-campus opportunities! You'll complement your in-class work with study abroad, internships, conference presentations, or a second major or minor. We've made it easy for you to customize your course of study to match your goals.

As a result, you'll write, speak, and think more effectively. And you'll be adept at creating meaningful, engaging work that educates, challenges, entertains, and inspires audiences.

Creative Writing Scholarship

The English Department at Lebanon Valley College invites prospective students majoring in Creative Writing to submit a portfolio for review for a Creative Writing Fellows Scholarship. Two scholarships will be awarded and based solely on the quality of the work.

“I have incredible respect for the entire LVC English Department. The literature and ideas that I was exposed to and wrote about have made me a more empathetic and action-oriented person. My goal for my Fulbright grant is to use literature as a tool to expose my students to various backgrounds and experiences.”
