Graduate Success

Graduates of the LVC 3+2 Engineering Program are successful engineers and administrators throughout the country. Recent graduates are working as engineers at such places as Hershey Foods, Lockheed Martin, Procter & Gamble, the Department of Defense, General Motors, and United Space Alliance.

In the past five years, LVC physics graduates have gone on to earn second degrees in engineering science and mechanics, energy engineering, electrical engineering, nuclear engineering, and chemical engineering. And, a 2018 graduate is pursuing his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the University of Virginia after staying for four years as an LVC physics major.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates an 11 percent employment growth rate for civil engineers 2026. They note that the median annual wage for architecture and engineering occupations was $84,770 in 2017.
