COVID Information

Please visit the link below for the latest information about the coronavirus outbreak.

Attention: The Music Department will continue to schedule auditions via Skype during the coronavirus outbreak. Please schedule your audition, and provide three available dates (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). If you have further questions, please email music@lvc.edu.

Steps to Becoming a Music Major

To enter the music program at LVC, you must apply to the college and complete an audition. The audition consists of three parts:

  • Individual audition on primary instrument
  • Ear training and sight singing assessment
  • Fundamentals Assessment
  • Meeting with the Department

For more information on the process, see below.

Step 1: Audition

Step 2: Apply

*Weekday auditions are heard Monday through Friday during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Auditions may be scheduled at other times by special arrangement. Auditions will not be scheduled Oct. 4-8, Nov. 27-Dec. 2, Dec. 7–Jan. 19, and March 2–10. The deadline for scholarships is Feb. 14. The last date to audition is April 1.

All students are strongly encouraged to perform their audition in person, yet we realize that distance or other extenuating circumstances may make this impossible. Prospective students may request permission to audition via online video service (Skype) in lieu of an on-site audition. Please contact the music department administrative assistant for more information at music@lvc.edu or 717-867-6275. The Music Department may request a second on-site audition.

The audition form must be completed online.

The audition must be successfully completed before students may register for music core courses.
