Hana Krechel’s achievements on the field and in the classroom at LVC led her to incredible opportunities as an engineer at Boeing Philadelphia after graduation.
According to a 2017 careers report by the American Institute of Physics, 49% of graduating physics majors nationwide are attending graduate school, and 47% enter the workforce directly after college. LVC’s physics program has successfully prepared students for both pathways. Some current alumni highlights are given below.

Hana Krechel’s achievements on the field and in the classroom at LVC led her to incredible opportunities as an engineer at Boeing Philadelphia after graduation.
Marcus is pursuing the second phase of LVC’s 3+2 engineering program at Penn State University and leaning toward a career in nanotechnology. He was also an intern at the Underseas Systems Office, an Applied Research Lab at the University, in summer 2019.
Justin is pursuing his Ph.D. in High Energy Physics at the College of William and Mary. He had several research experiences during his time at LVC to help prepare him for graduate school: the Research First program (2015), Drs. Lyons and Walck’s Mathematical Physics Research Group (2016), the Fermilab SULI program (2017), and the University of Michigan REU program at CERN (2018).
Nate Gibbons is pursuing his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Virginia. He had two research experiences during his time at LVC to help prepare him for graduate school: Drs. Lyons and Walck’s Mathematical Physics Research Group (2015) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology SURF program (2017).
Hannah is a Fulbright Scholar pursuing her Ph.D. in Music Theory in Austria.
