American Legion's Scholarship Programs

The American Legion sponsors a number of programs for both high school seniors and current undergraduate college students. Various eligibility requirements apply for each scholarship. For scholarship applications and additional information visit the American Legion website

Army Emergency Relief Scholarship Programs

Eligibility: College students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree; each individual scholarship has its own additional requirements

Amount: Awards range from $500 to $3,400

Army Women's Foundation Legacy Scholarships

Eligibility: Female student or the child of a female who has served or is serving honorably in the US Army, US Army Reserve, Army National Guard

Amount: Varies based on scholarship

Fisher House Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility: High school seniors or undergraduate college students who are children of active-duty personnel, reserve/guard and military members, or survivors of service members who died while on active duty

Amount: $2,000

HotelPlanner Graduate Technology Scholarship for Military Veterans

Eligibility: Veterans or Veteran's spouses/partner and children seeking a graduate education related to technology

Amount: $1,000 (Two times per year)

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

Eligibility: Undergraduate college students who are pursuing their first Bachelor's degree; each individual scholarship has its own eligibility requirements.

Amount: Varies based on scholarship (awards range from $1,500 to $10,000)

Eligibility: Military spouses attending college

Amount: up to $2,500

NAVPA Scholarship

Eligibility: Veteran, Active-Duty Servicemembers, National Guard, Reservists and their dependents that are pursuing a degree as a full-time student with a cumulative minimum GPA of a 3.0

Amount: $1,000

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society's Education Assistance

Eligibility: Active duty Sailors and Marines or children and spouses of active duty or retired Sailors or Marines

Amount: Varies based on scholarship (awards range from $500 to $3,000)

Our military Bi-annual Veteran Recognition Scholarship

Eligibility: Full-time active service member or veteran, or child of an active service member or veteran with a 2.7 GPA or higher.

Amount: $1,000

PA DMVA Educational Gratuity Program

Eligibility: Children of honorably discharged veterans who have service-connected disabilities and served during a period of war or armed conflict or children of veterans who die or died in service during a period of war or armed conflict

Amount: up to $500 per semester for up to 4 years

Tilman Scholars Program

Eligibility: Veteran and Active-Duty Servicemembers and their current spouses that are pursuing a degree as a full-time student.

Amount: Varies based on need

Veterans United Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility: A surviving spouse or a surviving child of a deceased service member from a service-related death OR a veteran with a 100% service-connected disability 

Amount: 10 one-time scholarships for up to $50,000 for this upcoming semester

Wells Fargo Veterans Scholarship Program

Eligibility: Honorably discharged Veterans or the spouse of a disabled Veteran; minimum 2.5 GPA required

Amount: up to $10,000/year
