Residential Life
Our campus is a small world in the middle of a big one. Chances are you'll live within a five-minute walk of any of your classes or friends. We like to think we have everything students need for a comfortable life, including a variety of attractive living options—from traditional residence halls to apartment- or suite-style housing to special interest houses. And students never have to worry about finding a place to live, as housing is required and guaranteed for all four years.
From academic service to multiculturalism, from Greek housing to those interested in a particular topic or cause, special interest housing provides a unique and exciting living environment for students wishing to create innovative programs and new initiatives on campus.
Figuring out what to bring with you to college can be difficult, so take a look at the list we've created to get an idea of what you can and can't bring with you to your new home.
Residency Policy
Lebanon Valley College is a four-year residential college and believes that an LVC education is the result of distinctively curricular and co-curricular experiences in class, on campus, and in the residences. As such, all first-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are required to live on campus, unless they are enrolled as a commuting student. All resident students must have a residential meal plan.
The College will provide housing to currently enrolled full-time undergraduate students who have not completed an undergraduate degree. Ninth-semester seniors who have not completed an undergraduate degree may appeal to the director of residential life for on-campus housing.
Commuter Policy
To be considered a commuter, a student must live within a 30-mile radius of campus and commute from their parent(s)/guardian’s home or permanent residence daily. The change of housing status form can be obtained from the Office of Residential Life.
The form requires a parent or legal guardian’s signature and must be received in the Office of Residential Life by July 1 for the fall semester and by December 1 for the spring semester. Students listed as a commuter and later found living in off-campus quarters will be assigned a room and meal plan on campus and charged accordingly.
Dining Services
Dining services always strives to be progressive in the food and options we provide to LVC. Each semester a formal student preference survey is conducted to gather feedback. Immediate concerns are addressed through the Student Council appointed food service representatives, our comment board, or our preference—speaking directly to a manager or the dining services general manager. We truly want your input. It will only help us provide a better food service to you, our customer.
Students and parents wishing to add on-campus flex dollars to their account can now do so online.
New this year, the off-campus program “Downtown Dollars” allows students to use a separate flex account on their LVC ID Card to purchase items from merchants off campus. These include places such as CVS as well as local restaurants. The College is working to secure a group of merchants for students throughout the fall and spring semester!
