Created in the Spring semester of 2015, Environmental Club looks to establish environmental sustainability initiatives among LVC students. Environmental Club hosts speakers, organize trips and conducts student projects to inform its club members as well as other students about environmental issues. Some examples of campus involvement include: helping with the native plant garden, planting trees in the Susquehanna, tending to the Peace Garden, and environmentally-related social events. Joining Environmental Club is a great way to help make a greener campus!
For more information, contact Kaitlyn McCarthy, Club President, at km011@lvc.edu.
If you'd like to get even more involved, you can apply for an Eco-Rep student position on campus. As an Eco-Rep, you can be an environmental leader on campus, taking part in (but not limited to):
Being an Eco-Rep equips students with valuable skills in leadership and communications skills and provides an opportunity to make LVC's campus more sustainable.
The program is being re-designed and will be launched in Fall 2019. Check back for more details!
For more information, contact Paige Bryson at pcb001@lvc.edu.
Another option for involvement with Sustainability is to interview for an internship with the Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee (ESAC). When these positions become available (as current interns graduate) they will be posted on the student job board.
