Lebanon Valley College Has Record Seven Fulbright Semi-Finalists

Lebanon Valley College, recognized as a Fulbright Top Producing Institution for the past two years, hopes to add to the list of six recent LVC graduates who received Fulbright awards in the past three years. Dr. Philip Benesch, associate professor of politics and director of external scholarships and fellowships, announced that seven current LVC students have advanced to Fulbright Semi-Finalist status, the last step before the awards are announced in March–April. 

Benesch, who also oversees the College’s pre-law program, noted that this is a record number of Fulbright Semi-Finalists for Lebanon Valley College, which has seen impressive results recently with Hannah Pell ’16 (Austria), Jasmine Olvany ’17 (Hungary), Megan Lough ’17 (Bulgaria), Katie Hockenbury ’18 (Wales), Kristy Sonberg ’18 (South Korea), and Audrey Reiley ’18 (Malaysia) receiving Fulbright awards since March 2016.

The 2019 Fulbright Semi-Finalists have applied for Fulbright Awards to attend graduate school and/or conduct research in Brazil, Columbia, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, and Spain.
