When Nikki Lloyd committed to Lebanon Valley, there was chatter about the possibility of a women's ice hockey team, but at the time it was just a rumor. Nikki chose to become a Dutchmen anyway, for the school's strong academic track record, along with the intention to play field hockey in the fall and lacrosse in the spring.
During the Harrisburg native's second semester in April of 2015, the women's ice hockey rumors became true and that the campaign would start in the 2016-17 season. Once Lloyd heard the exciting news, she instantly knew she wanted to lace up the skates for LVC because after a semester off the ice, it was sorely missed.
Lloyd played 13 years of ice hockey before coming to LVC with nine of those years being played on an all-boys (except her) travel team. Currently, Lloyd plays midfield for LVC's women's lacrosse squad and has played in every game so far this season. She scored the game-winning goal against Shenandoah back on Feb. 27 as the Dutchmen sit with a 3-3 overall mark so far in 2016.
