LVC Live Delivered for Students Old and New

With each new year, Lebanon Valley College welcomes new Dutchmen with an annual showcase that highlights what LVC offers prospective students.

On March 17, the class of 2022 experienced a taste of their future at The Valley. LVC Live was a four-hour event that allowed accepted students to visit the campus early and get to know the faculty and staff, clubs and organizations, and other students.

“[As a freshman] I came here for Day at The Valley and other events, because I wanted to see what clubs and other activities I could get involved with on campus,” Shilesky Montalvo, a junior English major, said. “[LVC Live] opened up my perspective on how much LVC had to offer despite being a small school.

From Dutchmen sports to student-run clubs, almost every organization was represented at the event.

“This event is an opportunity for students to interface and be embraced by various offices and student clubs and organizations,” Olajiwon McCadney, assistant director of Intercultural Affairs & Inclusive Programming, said. “We get parents who are nervous and worried whether their child is going to feel safe, and we offer that lens of support.”

Along with acclimating prospective students, LVC Live doubles as a chance to help uncertain students make the choice to enroll at LVC. Every time a potential student pledged to attend LVC, a gong was rung to complement the more festive nature of LVC Live. In total, around 40 new students were convinced by LVC Live to enroll for the fall.
