To cap off their season, Lebanon Valley's men's soccer team defeated Drew University 2-1 to win its first-ever ECAC DII Championship. It was truly the icing on the cake of an already-extraordinary season for the Dutchmen, who won an LVC-record 18 games this season.
Players Cam Alexander and Bradley Mehl were able to provide the Dutchment with a huge 1-0 early advantage that they were able to maintain throughout the entire first half. Alexander was able to assist teammate Matt Prince in the second half, bringing the score up to 2-0. Drew refused to quit, however, and answered in the 79th minute when Dylan Hammer scored his eighth of the year to bring the Rangers to within one at 2-1.
The Dutchmen were rewarded for outplaying Drew for the majority of the game and were able to keep the Rangers off the scoreboard and held on for the 2-1 win to capture their first-ever ECAC Title.
Several players received awards following the game, such as Tournament MVP and All-Tournament.
