Faculty Research Grant Application

Grants are available annually for faculty research. Full-time faculty members and lecturers are eligible for these grants. Selections are made by the Faculty Grants Committee, whose membership represents the diverse disciplines at the College. Since each committee member may not be able to assess fairly how well an application fulfills each criterion listed in the Faculty Policies Manual, grant proposals must explicitly address the following.

Intrinsic Merit of the Project

• Original scholarship
• Results suitable for presentation
• Contribution to the department
• Contribution to the major

Extent to Which the Proposal Shows Careful Planning

• Integral part of a project
• Next logical step in a project
• Part of sabbatical leave
• Appropriate contacts established
• Potential for student involvement

Current Status

• New project or ongoing project
• Previous LVC funding for this project
• Previous external funding for this project
