What is WebEx Meeting and WebEx Teams?

WebEx is for faculty, staff, and students who wish to hold live online meetings, collaborate on team projects, and record sessions. You can share your screen and more. There are two products. WebEx Meeting is best for instructors to provide instruction and be able to record meetings. WebEx Teams is best to be used for students or instructors to create virtual work spaces and invite people into that space.

WebEx Meetings Quick Start Guide

  • In Chrome or Firefox, navigate to lvc.webex.com
  • Login with your LVC username (do not include @lvc.edu)
  • Password is set by the user. Use the Forgot password link if unsure of password.
    • Does NOT use single sign on
  • Recommended Usage:
    • Best for instructors to provide instruction and be able to record meetings
    • Features
      • Video conferencing w/screen sharing and sharing of Host/Presenter roles
      • Record video conference to share later via link
  • Personal WebEx Room Address
    • Below your name, you will see a link with your Personal WebEx Room Address.
      • Example: https://lvc.webex.com/<username>
  • For a meeting during class time:
    • Distribute your Personal WebEx Room Address.
    • At the meeting time:
      • Select Start a Meeting
      • Select Start Meeting
      • Those with the address will have access to the meeting session.

  • Login with LVC credentials; supports single sign on
  • Students or instructors can create “Work Spaces” and invite people to the space
  • Recommended Usage:
    • Best suited to team or group work
    • Features:
      • Persistent chat
      • File sharing
      • Video conferencing w/screen sharing (cannot record meetings)
