Statement Addressing the Encouragement of Accurate and Prompt Crime Reporting

General Procedures for reporting a crime or emergency

Community members, students, faculty, staff, and guests are encouraged to report all crimes and public safety-related incidents to the Lebanon Valley College Public Safety Department in a timely manner.

To report a crime or an emergency on the Lebanon Valley College campus, call Lebanon Valley College public safety at ext. 6111 or from outside the college phone system, 717-867-6111. To report a non-emergency security or public safety-related matter, call Lebanon Valley College public safety at ext. 6111 or from outside the college phone system, 717-867-6111. Officers are available at these respective telephone numbers 24 hours a day to answer your call.

All Lebanon Valley College public safety incident reports are forwarded to the dean of students office for review and potential action by the Office of Student Judicial Services. Lebanon Valley College public safety officers will investigate a report when it is deemed appropriate. Additional information obtained via the investigation will also be forwarded to the Office of Student Affairs.

If assistance is required from the Annville Police Department or the Annville Fire Company, Lebanon Valley College Public Safety Office staff will contact the appropriate unit. If a sexual assault or rape should occur, staff on the scene, including Lebanon Valley College public safety officers, will offer the victim a wide variety of services. Lebanon Valley College has a sexual assault policy.

Crimes should be reported to the Lebanon Valley College Public Safety Office to ensure inclusion in the annual crime statistics and to aid in providing timely warning notices to the community when appropriate.
