COVID Information

Please visit the link below for the latest information about the coronavirus outbreak.

  1. Available student employment positions are posted on the Lebanon Valley College employer page in Handshake, which can be found on the Breen Center for Graduate Success web page.  Students may contact the hiring department directly to inquire about an available job. Students who are eligible for Federal Work-Study are notified in their financial aid award letter. It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of their FWS award. Departments should give the highest preference to FWS students when hiring. Students who do not qualify for FWS may be hired after reasonable efforts have been made to employ FWS students.
  2. Students may work a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year and a maximum of 40 hours per week during the summer and holiday periods. Students will be paid on approximately a monthly basis for hours worked. Payment for hours worked will not appear as a credit on the student account. Earnings are direct deposited in a bank account of the student's choice. Students may write a personal check to the college from their checking account if they wish to use their earnings toward clearing the balance on their student account. Free checking is available at Fulton Bank for LVC students.
  3. In order to begin work, ALL students must complete and submit the Student Employment Packet (current year) to the Payroll Office (Humanities 004) no later than their first day of work. The Student Employment Packet includes the current W-4 Form, Local Earned Income Tax Form, Direct Deposit Form, and current I-9 Form. Along with the completed packet, and original form(s) of ID must be presented in accordance with federal guidelines. No payroll will be processed until the proper paperwork has been submitted.
    1. Pay dates and deadlines for student payroll will be circulated and posted online at the beginning of each semester. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to approve time cards by the specified deadlines.
  4. Lebanon Valley College now requires direct deposit for student paychecks. If you are not currently set up for direct deposit, please complete the direct deposit form in Humanities 004. If you do not currently have a banking relationship, or prefer to deal with a bank in Annville, Lebanon Valley College has a special agreement with Fulton Bank that offers a no-minimum balance account to our students.
  5. Student employees are exempt from Social Security and Medicare (FICA) taxes during the academic year as per IRS guidelines. These taxes are withheld during summer employment. During summer employment, the College-provided board is considered as taxable compensation. Appropriate taxes will be withheld from the student’s pay if applicable.
  6. Students do not qualify for paid sick leave, vacation, or other College employee benefits.
