James O. Bemesderfer Memorial Scholarship

The James O. Bemesderfer Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates good academic standing, good character, and financial need. Rev. Dr. James O. Bemesderfer served as chaplain, teacher, and mentor at the College from 1959-1976.

George R. Marquette '48 and Rufina B. Marquette '51 Scholarship

The George R. Marquette '48 and Rufina B. Marquette '51 Scholarship is awarded to a student to help support current tuition. Dr. Rinso Marquette served for 38 years as a coach, professor and administrator. He retired as vice president emeritus for student affairs.

Arthur and L. Peterson Leadership Scholarship

The Arthur and L. Peterson Leadership Scholarship is awarded to a student who best exemplified the qualities of leadership, scholarship, and caring concern for others. Dr. Arthur Peterson served as president of LVC from 1983-1987 and developed a leadership initiative at the College. He was granted an honorary doctorate from LVC in 1988.

Stanson Family Scholarship

The Stanson Family Scholarship is awarded to a full-time freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior to provide need-based financial aid. Gregory Stanson '63 spent a 40-year career at LVC, including the roles of dean of admissions and vice president of student services.

John A. and Glenda J. Synodinos Scholarship Fund for International Students

The John A. and Glenda J. Synodinos Scholarship Fund is awarded to one or more full-time undergraduate international students. John Synodinos served as president of Lebanon Valley College from 1988-1996 with the partnership of his wife, Glenda. He was granted an honorary doctorate from LVC in 1996.

Glenn H. Woods '51 Vietnamese Students Scholarship

The Glenn H. Woods '51 Vietnamese Students Scholarship is awarded to one or more students from Vietnam. Glenn Woods '51 was a professor in the English Department at the College from 1965-2000. The scholarship was started by six former Vietnamese students whom he mentored at LVC in the late 1970s.

Darrell Woomer Diversity Program Endowment

The Darrell Woomer Diversity Program Endowment provides support for programs that educate students and other members of the LVC community on issues and topics related to diversity. Rev. Dr. Darrell Woomer served as chaplain at LVC from 1992 until his retirement in 2005.

Rosemary Yuhas Award for Leadership

The Rosemary Yuhas Award for Leadership is awarded to a rising sophomore or junior who demonstrates involvement and leadership in co-curricular life; shows potential for future leadership and academic success; and holds a minumum GPA of 3.0. Rosemary Yuhas is dean emerita of student affairs. Her 35 years of service includes contributions as coach and instructor in physical education.
